Nu de enige overgebleven versterkte poort - van de oorspronkelijke vier - in de dubbele ring van middeleeuwse versterkte muren van Bratislava, is de Michaelspoort (Michalska Brana) een gotische toren die zijn oorsprong vond in de 14e eeuw en vaak werd gebruikt door vissers die hun vangst naar de Starý Mesto (oude stad) van de rivier de Donau.
